Product Designer
Three very different people use CareChain on the same case: a patient who is anxious about a long wait, an Allied Health Provider (AHP) running a specialty assessment, and a health-system administrator tracking outcomes. As Product Designer, you make each of those experiences clear, calm, and trustworthy.
You will own design end to end on a small team, from research with real providers through to the interface they use every day. Good design here is measured the same way everything else is: by whether it helps cut a real wait.
What you'll do
- Own product design across the patient, provider, and administrator surfaces, from research to shipped interface.
- Run lightweight research with real AHPs and patients, so design decisions rest on evidence rather than taste.
- Design flows for sensitive moments, such as a triage result, with the honesty and plain language patients deserve.
- Maintain and extend our design system so a small team can ship consistent work quickly.
- Partner with engineers and clinicians to make AI-supported decision support legible and easy to override.
What we're looking for
- 4+ years designing complex web products end to end, with a portfolio that shows your thinking, not just final screens.
- Strong interaction and visual craft, plus the systems mindset to keep a growing product coherent.
- Experience designing for non-consumer users (clinical, operational, or other expert workflows) is a real advantage.
- Comfort running your own research and writing clear interface copy in plain language.
- Bonus: healthcare or other regulated-domain experience, or working French in our Quebec home market.
About CareChain
Most patients on a specialist wait-list do not need a specialist. We route each one through an AI-supported assessment led by an Allied Health Provider, so specialists see only the patients who need them and everyone else gets care faster. Our outcomes are audited and published: a median wait cut from 27 weeks to 4 weeks, with 85% of patients safely triaged off the list and 92% patient satisfaction.
We operate across 3 provincial health systems, 40+ clinics, and 2 academic centres, with 100% Canadian data residency. We are remote-friendly across Canada with hubs in Toronto and Montreal, and we offer health benefits from day one, equity for every full-time employee, and a vacation minimum we enforce.
