People & Talent Lead

We are a small team of clinicians, engineers, and operators with a concrete mission: cut specialty wait-times from months to weeks. As People & Talent Lead, you own how we hire, support, and grow that team as it scales across our Toronto and Montreal hubs and remote roles Canada-wide.

This is a hands-on, build-it role, not a maintain-it one. You will own recruiting and people operations end to end and set the early standard for how CareChain treats the people doing the work, with the same honesty we bring to our clinical claims.

What you'll do

• Own full-cycle recruiting across clinical, engineering, and operations roles, from sourcing through to a fair, clear offer.
• Build people operations that scale: onboarding, benefits from day one, equity for every full-time employee, and the vacation minimum we enforce.
• Shape a calm, evidence-led culture as the team grows, and keep our practices fair across remote and hub-based staff.
• Partner with hiring managers to keep our process respectful of candidates' time and grounded in the actual work.
• Steward people data responsibly, in line with our 100% Canadian data residency standard.

What we're looking for

• 6+ years in people and talent roles, including hands-on recruiting and people operations at an early-stage company.
• Experience hiring across both technical and non-technical functions, ideally including clinical or regulated roles.
• A track record of building fair, humane processes rather than inheriting them.
• Sound judgement on compensation, equity, and policy, with the discretion the role demands.
• Bonus: experience supporting a bilingual, Canada-wide team, given Quebec is our home market.
