Triage at scale: a deployment playbook
What month one, three, and six look like when a health system routes its wait-list through allied-health-led triage.
Deploying triage at the front of a specialty wait-list is an operational change before it is a clinical one. This playbook sets out what the first six months look like, drawn from the spine-pathway deployment, so a health system can plan the work rather than discover it.
Month one is integration and referral routing: connecting records and eClaims, agreeing the conditions in scope, and routing incoming referrals to an assessment instead of the queue. Month three is the first measurable movement in the median wait. Month six is a wait-list whose shape has changed, with the published 27-to-4-week result and 85 percent triaged off, and reporting a ministry can stand behind.
